Happy New Year! I love this time of year. The days are getting longer. The busyness of the holidays is behind us. I feel alive with new possibilities and am inspired to create anew. As part of my process in getting clear about what I intend to create in 2018, I took time out to review my growth over the past year. What did I learn in 2017? What did I appreciate about myself? How did I heal and transform? Instead of focusing on my outward accomplishments, I decided to focus on my inner journey. I feel inspired to share the highlights with you as this review process was fortifying and empowering. It helped me to anchor in the changes, and set intentions for continued growth. Tools for Transforming Depression

If you find yourself feeling unmotivated, lacking energy for life, grumpy or irritable, you may be depressed. Depression is typically caused by suppressed anger, at the root of which is the feeling of powerlessness. When we give our power away, our creative life force energy becomes stifled and “depressed” and we are no longer in the flow of manifesting abundance. We are unable to be receptive to creative solutions and new possibilities. Imagine a dam, and how it blocks the flow of water. This is what happens to our energy when we suppress our anger. Speaking My Truth

I am a co-author in an anthology being released August 25th titled, Speaking Your Truth: Courageous Stories from Inspiring Women. Here is a blog entry I wrote about what it means to me to speak my truth: Speaking my truth means that I share honestly and openly what is in my heart…what I think and believe and how I feel. In order to speak my truth, I need to be honest with myself first. Is what I am about to say coming from my heart, from a place of love, from the center of who I am? Or, am I speaking from fear or anger? Are my words an emotional response to pain from my past? When speaking my truth, I always want to center myself in the present moment and in love.
